  • Power Kites

The basic flying mechanics of a dual line power kite are very simple in their essence. You simply attach your two flying lines (right and left) to the bridle lines of the foil itself and you are away. The basic controls are as simple as pull the right line to manoeuvre the kite right and vice versa for the other side. This does leave you rather limited in terms of agility and manoeuvrability but these kites are aimed at beginners to the sport and are simple for this exact reason.

  • Kite Buggying

The kite buggy is a three wheeled landsailer and the pilot uses power kites to generate the pull. The most common buggy designs are from Peter Lynn and Flexifoil. Common design characteristics include stainless steel tube frame, low centre of gravity, excellent centre of balance (this allows for great manoeuvrability) and they can be quickly disassembled for easy transport. Buggies aren't the cheapest accessory you will buy (ranging from around £250 to over £600) however they are very durable and will most likely last you many, many years.

  • Kite Accessories

There may come a time when you have to let go of your kite- perhaps the wind suddenly picks up and you're unable to control it or perhaps you simply miss a move and fall, letting go by accident. A fully powered up kite out of control on a beach is no laughing matter- the potential for injury to passing people is high and you also run the risk of damage or loss to your valuable kite. They act by linking the brake lines of the kite to the pilot via wristbands, so if the handles are released the brake lines are brought into use to de-power the kite and allow it to land safely. The pilot can then pick up the handles and relaunch the kite safely, or pack it away and go tell all his friends about his narrow escape!
