Recreational Kiting with the Flexifoil Sting

Flexifoil StingIf you want to progress to 4-line kiting, the Flexifoil Sting is ideal. It is an affordable kite that is simple to control and has outstandingly stable flying characteristics, which makes it perfect for the beginner. However, as it comes in four different sizes, it can also be used to progress towards traction kiting.

The Flexifoil Sting is very easy to fly and has an impressive set of features that make it exceptionally stable, simple to operate and resilient even in very gusty conditions.

Features of the Flexifoil Sting

  • It comes with a gauze covered leading edge as standard which enables the pilot to launch easily and then provides greater performance while flying – this also makes it one of the easiest kites to relaunch and means it won’t fold or fall even in very gusty conditions.
  • The Flexifoil Sting also has localised reinforcements on the bridle system, allowing for more distribution of load throughout the kite and lines – this increases stability, makes it more efficient and also reduces damage if the kite crashes.
  • Colour coded lines make it easy to set up.
  • It incorporates Flexifoil’s 4-line safety system.
  • Croc strips make packing away easy, keep everything tidy and reduce tangles so you can get set up quickly the next time too.
  • It also comes with a wrist strap safety system that allows you to let go of the controls if you need to without losing the kite.

What is the Flexifoil Sting suitable for?

Due to its outstanding stability and simplicity to control, the Flexifoil Sting is perfect for the first time kiter. New kiters can improve their flying skills safely and comfortably with this easy to control, forgiving and stable kite. It is also ideal for those who want to progress from 2-line kiting to four lines.

However the larger 3.3m Flexifoil Sting is very powerful and can be used to cross over towards traction kiting. Its easily controlled power and quick turning response make it ideal for those wanting to move in this direction.

The Flexifoil Sting can even be flown with a buggy or board, though only with higher wind speeds. Even advanced kit buggy pilots will find a place for it as it is so stable in high-wind conditions. In fact during testing it was used in winds that exceeded 50mph.

For the same reason, its stability and gust absorbing properties mean that it can be flown in conditions that would otherwise be considered unsuitable, though it is recommended that you upgrade the flying lines if you use the Flexifoil Sting for this purpose.
